Frequently Asked Questions About Our Handyman Services
Q: How much does the handyman service cost?
A: The labor rate is $150 per hour for a two-person crew.
Q: Is there tax?
A: Yes. New Jersey sales tax applies and must be added to the total labor cost for handyman services.
Q: Is there a fee for the estimate?
A: Estimates are FREE!
Q: Is there a minimum project size?
A: There is a minimum four hour service for any project. After the initial four hours, the billing is calculated in 15 minute increments for your best value.
Q: How do I get the materials needed for my project?
A: You can directly purchase and pick up, or arrange for delivery of materials, but you take responsibility for measurements and returns. However, we can supply the materials and take responsibility. Materials are billed at cost + 25% (material cost (plus sales tax) x 1.25). If you chose to have us shop for and/or pick up material, our stated labor rates apply.
Q: How can I make payments?
A: Payments can be made by cash, check or credit card.
Q: When are payments due?
A: Payments are due at the completion of work except in the case of extended projects where current amounts due for material and labor are presented weekly and collected by our technicians.
Q: Do we need to be home?
A: No, not while the work is being performed. However, you do need to meet our technician at the project start to review the scope of work and sign a work authorization before the work begins.
If you are absent during the progress of the job, you must be accessible by phone or e-mail to discuss changes to scope which may be dictated by conditions discovered after the work begins.
At the end of the day, you must approve the completed work and make payment directly to the technician, or make arrangements for someone else to do so.
Q: Can you do electrical and plumbing work?
A: Yes. However, if a licensed electrician or plumber is required we will quote their hourly rate separately.
